Found this place by luck, it is literally a whole in the wall from the outside and wifey and I were skeptical, but the staff were inviting and the food, let's just say you do not need the sauce on the ribs, they are very flavorful, the tots and pork, mouth watering, BBQ beans the best I have ever had, street corn is that sh..t. and from what I read they really give back to the community.
I'm new to town but I have been a lot of places and this is top 15 enjoy
Truly amazing people! Get there when they’re open. You won’t regret it! Churched up tots will blow your mind. Fish and chips literally do not get better than these guys!
Note, they're only open Friday from 11 to 7.
Nice but limited variety of bbq and fish (cod). The churched-up tots are great, and are only $7, same price as the fish sandwich.
Great people serving delicious food.
Fast and friendly service every time.
The blacked baked fish is delicious. The Rolled oysters are great. The green beans are killer. Most Iron workers that work on the Sherman Minton Bridge on the Kentucky side eat lunch there every Friday.
New hours are 11am-7pm Friday only. I had the fish sandwich, crinkle cut fries, mix of baked beans and macaroni & cheese. The portions were very good in size. Fish and fries were certainly cooked to order °°°°°\/°°°° and the entire meal was served piping hot!
Here's my opinion on the food. The fish is a quality product typical with what you will find at most local area church fish fries. The crinkle cut fries were a really big portion but they're just a frozen product like most fast food stores sell; the big difference here is you'll not get any cold food here. The baked beans were a mix of beans that were in a really good sweet & savory BBQ style sauce and I enjoyed them, they'd be great with some corn bread. The thing that's a miss for me was the macaroni & cheese. I'm not sure if it was left over or what happened but it just didn't taste good for me. It could have been the cheese blend wasn't for me? I know others who have liked it & recommended it so don't let me deter you too much on it. The hush puppies were really good as well as the tartar sauce. It's around $10 for a fish sandwich, 1 side & 3 hush puppies. I think drinks were $1.50 each but I'm not 💯% since I'm a little late posting this review. What I'm really looking forward to is going back for their specialty of brisket burnt ends and the pulled pork. The fine young man working there said the brisket was his favorite. They also bring your food out to your table. The atmosphere is pretty cool and definitely kid friendly.
