Tucked away behind among several of the other dazzling gems in the Bywater region, Bratz Y'all can meet your need for meats, sweets, and of course, authentic German brews. The food menu at Bratz Y'all boasts a wide array of staple German dishes ranging from bratwurst, schnitzel, stews, potato salad, sauerkraut, strudel, and large soft baked pretzels (my personal favorite and high recommendation). Most of these dishes are prepared and cooked in a variety of methods, so be sure to carefully read each menu selection, and good luck trying not to order multiple things to sample! Also, don't miss out on there self made sauces including: garlic mayo, curry ketchup, and mustard. There is fairly limited seating inside of the restaurant, but there is a lovely patio area with picnic tables and fans / heaters (as necessary pending weather).
Initially, the beer selection can be intimidating, but there are several sizes that you can order ranging from your typical sampler size of 8-10 ounces, all the way to the classic stein holding 1 liter of your choosing. Draft and bottled beers are available.
While the service may seem slow, all of the food is prepared fresh for your consumption, so please be patient with the staff. Take a look around at the interesting memorabilia adorning the walls of the restaurant while you wait!
Once you are done feasting on the savoriness of your selections, be sure to take a stroll through Crescent City Park which is just 2 blocks from the restaurant front. Hope you enjoy! PROST!
5 star everything, service, food. My wife is German and I lived there for years and the Bratz food did not disappoint. We even ordered more to take home. Also a fantastic authentic German beer selection. If you've never had a real German pretzel, they were rolling them fresh and cranking them out as fast as possible. I highly recommend Bratz for all your German specialty cuisine needs. And again, I can't express enough the high level of service and felt like being in a restaurant at the Marktplatz in Wurzburg.
Very cute place. Focus on the outdoor seating area, as there were a lot of people eating outside. I was the only one inside eating. The food was good, the atmosphere was pleasant, the staff members were nice. No dedicated parking lot.
I was happy to find a German restaurant in the city. This place is awesome!!! The food is very tasty and the beer is even better lol
Very friendly employees and helpful. I wasn't sure what beer to get, but they asked questions and made a suggestion. It was great.
Not much room to seat inside, but the outside area is great. They even have fans.
From the outside this place seemed sketchy. I approached the cinder block bunker with a twitch of trepidation, as I spotted the red door with an opened padlock hanging on it. But, I pulled the door handle and it was suddenly an Alice in Wonderland portal. As soon as I looked inside I just knew I was in the right destination. I was not disappointed in the least. In fact, I was elated when the super nice lady behind the counter told me it was happy hour and the liters of SUPER FRESH German beer were two dollars off, and then my liter of beer was EIGHT freaking dollars! Holy Sheetza! Didn’t have time to try the food, but I’ll be back for that in the next few days.
