By far, one of my favorite rest stops anywhere now. Very clean and beautiful. Staff are extremely friendly and professional. The exhibits are very interesting. Plenty of parking and picnic tables. Despite the interstate running right over and through it, it feels more wild and peaceful than one might think. I highly recommend this location.
Amazing welcome center. Short film, animated animals tell about swamp area. Took a 2 1/2 hour boat tour of parts of the huge swamp with recommended guide. Even had free overnight camping with security & fresh coffee all day
Wonderful welcome center. The staff is informative and polite. The restrooms are clean. Free coffee is offered inside the welcome center information and tourism section.
There were more brochures available than I have ever seen in one location. The cute 4 minute movie is priceless. The displays are eye catching too. They really draw you in.
Plenty of parking; and in separate lots for each type of transportation. Truckers have their own area. RVs have their own and cars, etc have their own. This makes it easier to get in and out.
Such a cute welcome Center. The workers inside are so helpful, and can give you suggestions on places to pop by and visit. We got some really wonderful hiking trail recommendations. The short 10 minute move is nice, as well as the mini museum. There are also some nice and clean restrooms. We really enjoyed stopping here, we learned so much about Atchafalaya
Yes this is a 5 start rest area. Serious, it checks all the boxes. Nice clean well lit. Plenty of parking and clean rest rooms. What makes it outstanding is the visitors center. They have a nice exhibit on the area, complete with animatronics. Kids and adults will love the 4 minute show. Loads of information about the area and things to see. Hello and friendly staff to help you out. The answer to the question in the photo is pineapple.
