Best bonsai nursery and supply in Louisiana and not because it's our only one in state. Their species and size selection was very wide and caters to anyone's preference. From shohin to chumono and even omono slabs. Plenty of Acer species, cypress, juniper, JBP, Hawthorn, fig, temperate to tropical. I had a damn field day. Be sure to budget a couple hours to fully explore the grounds because I would have stayed much longer had they not been closing. I got to talk with Evan and get advice/opinions about bonsai culture and cultivation which is equally as valuable as the trees I brought home. And the prices! I was actually taken back to find out how low the prices were for very substantial, workable trees. I actually expected the prices to be higher bc they have the market cornered in south Louisiana but absolutely not. VERY REASONABLE PRICES. For that reason I will absolutely take that drive again any day of the week. I can't recommend them enough.

The owner certainly knows and cares about the art of Bonsai. Bought a simple one to start. We're all the way from Oklahoma but will be back next time we're visiting and make room for some more. It's so helpful that he stocks everything you need, even books. And there is such a variety, even whole clumps set up like a forest. Absolutely beautiful.

I couldn't be any more pleased with my experience at Underhill Bonsai!!! Evan, Mark and Nate were so friendly and helpful. They were open to sharing their expertise and helping develop their customers skills. The Silverberry workshop instructed by Dawn Koetting was so fun and insightful and all the other participants were very friendly. When I got home and had a question about fertilizer, the owner Doug quickly messaged me back and even offered to ship me some of theirs and wave the shipping cost.

I just recently poked my head down the rabbit hole of the art of bonsai but being from Oklahoma City, there is no good resources for learning that I have found so far. I traveled to New Orleans for a funeral of a close family member and I decided to find some bonsai nurseries to visit. I stopped at one in Texas but didn't receive the hospitality that Underhill showed me. I expressed to Evan that I would also like to purchase and dedicate a native tree to my family member. He helped me pick out a beautiful Wingged Elm that I will cherish.

I highly recommend stopping in to see these guys in Folsom LA! Their prices were very good and their customer service was even better. Also check out their Bonsai Southeast podcast and the Underhill YouTube channel. So much good information. I listened all the way back to Oklahoma.

I purchased a collected Bald Cypress a little over a week ago. The price of the tree was very good. I had to contact them in order to make the purchase. Once the shipping price was established I made the payment through PayPal. Within a couple of days the tree shipped.

The tree came in excellent condition. Only one branch was broken and I was still able to use it as a cutting. The tree is very healthy and the pot it came in was not damaged at all. I highly recommend Underhill Bonsai.

Evan took the time to gather some information about my experience and then perfectly guided me through the nursery. Not only did he help me choose the perfect tree but he shared so much knowledge about the various species and techniques.
