I work in juvenile probation services. Myself and some co-workers recently toured the facility. Mr. Sims and Ms. Jefferson were very professional, courteous, and informative about their day-to-day operations, programs, and resources for the youth. The facility was clean and appeared well-managed. Their facility seems like a model example for balancing security with humane treatment and rehabilitation.

Went there as a youth to Fox Mod. This place is where it all turned around. Time and time again, I was messing up. The guard over Fox sat me down and had a talk with me. I was looking at some serious repercussions and it wasn’t my first time in trouble. He explained, “Son, I’ve seen a lot of kids come and go. You don’t want this life. You can’t get worked up like last night. You’re not gunna make it at the next level. You’re going to get hurt in there. Bad.”
Officer Martin, I think it was. I’ve always wanted to thank that man. They treated me with enough respect as a human, while stripping everything from me as a citizen. Pretty effective. It’s not dangerous but they’ll never feel comfortable. Plus; they’re going to see enough to rattle them.

I go there with our church, Eagle Heights Community Church, Tickfaw, LA, each month, to share the love of Jesus Christ with these young men and young ladies. It is such and awesome joy and pleasure. Our prayer is that they will come to the saving knowledge and grace of our Lord and Savior. It is a blessing to be a part of this team!
