I cannot say enough about the positive experience my family had at this Gilchrest facility. My father was at the facility for only 6 short days but the care and compassion he received was immeasurable. The rooms are lovely and warm and the views are serene. The staff is composed of knowledgeable, caring and respectful people. A very calming atmosphere for all, patients and visitors. Choosing hospice is an agonizing decision and once we arrived, I instantly felt at ease with our decision. Highly recommend!

I would definitely recommend this hospice center! It's not a modern setting but it feels like a little cabin tucked away. My dad was brought here and stayed here for 2 weeks before his passing. The nurses were great to work with. Nona, Cody and Michelle were AMAZING nurses to my dad. They made him feel as if he was healthy and never treated him any differently. They made us feel like we were all family there. I stayed every night on my own air mattress and they never had a problem with it! It's quiet and very simple to get around there! Its not a huge facility but it has everything you or your love one need. My dad especially loved being able to sit out on his own private patio! My dad passed peacefully here and was able to enjoy his last days laughing, smiling and joking around! I can't thank Cody, Michelle, and Nona enough for how much they had done for my dad and our family. They are truly angels! I would recommend this place to anyone! Thank you for everything!

My father and family were treated so well by all the staff there that they deserve special commendation. Dying with dignity can often be a clichéd expression, but Gilchrist lived up to that phrase with their care...and then some. The entire staff were professional and extremely competent with their jobs. If you are considering hospice care for a loved one during their final days, look no further than Gilchrist. You will not regret that decision.

Let me start off by expressing my gratitude towards Gilchrist. My father was terminally ill and unfortunately passed away August 13, 2020. I’m not from the Baltimore/metro area and I had never heard of this place before. I wanted what was best for my daddy, and this was it. The staff at Gilchrist was nothing short of amazing. The way they care for their patients is something I have never seen before. The softest, most compassionate people I have ever met. Every hour, on the hour they would visit with my dad, reposition him in bed so he was comfortable, talk to him, soothe him, comb his hair. Death is a very hard thing to watch and go through, but they make you feel like you are not alone. The staff here always has a smile on their face and are ready and willing to help when & where they can. Even after my dads passing I have been contacted by grief counselors several times just to check in. To all the people at Gilchrist- I can never repay you. Thank you for taking such great care of my daddy. I owe all of my appreciation and thanks to you. If I ever have to make the decision for palliative care, this will be the place I choose. The folks from Gilchrist provided hospice services for my father at his existing location in Harmony Hall in Columbia. All of the people that I had contact with at Gilchrist were very caring and helpful in every way, but there were two that are too wonderful for words and made a HUGE difference for my father and our family. It is an understatement to say that Palliative Nurse Esther S. was supremely compassionate and competent; and Caregiver Olivia took it upon herself to reorganize the room and bed situation into a configuration that my parents were yearning for. Olivia cared for my parents as if they were her own family. I honestly can't thank Esther and Olivia enough for helping us through this difficult time.
