Very caring and excellent doctor!
I am not used to writing reviews but my experience with Dr. Onwuka makes it imperative and a moral responsible for me to to so. I am one one those that never return a second time after receiving an inferior /poor services from any business. And average to good services is a normal expectation but an extraordinary service or care is what most clients least expect . Dr Onwuka took the art of caring to a very different level. He did not just focused on my primary concern for the visit , he went far and beyond care to ask about my family (whom he has never met any) and we even talked about our hobbies and some social issues. The second time when I returned for my lab results, he actually addressed me by my first name and in the course of this visit he picked of a very an abnormal lab value which has always been overlooked by other providers and to further investigate. Needless to say I am also a care provider and this man has an extraordinary touch of providing care. Yes he is a role model, I will recommend him to all my acquaintances without second guessing.
he took the time out to really care for my father during his initial physical. Asked questions and really showed concern for his health and getting him better. He didn't rush through my fathers first visit he sat down and talked to him and made sure all of our questions and concerns were answered thoroughly. I appreciated his patience and sterness the most. Staff was nice as well.
My cardiologist sent me to Dr.Onwuka. I was shocked at my first visit when he sat and talked to me for almost an hour ! When does that ever happen ? That made me a life long patient. I have multiple health problems but always feel like his is on top of everything and he's keeping me out of the hospitals !!
He took care of me when I was hospitalized. I am a health care provider myself, always went to doctors in Montgomery County NEVER to anyone in Prince George's or Charles County. You know why.
Dr Onwuka is the first doctor from the SoMd area that I can, in good conscience, recommend when asked.
I am writing this now because I just received a thank you from a very grateful friend of a friend who said 'I'm not going to die' 'he listened to me' 'he's going to get my records and figure out what's going on' 'I've been in and out of hospitals for months, wasting away to skin and bones, but I actually feel hope because he really cares' 'Everyone else just treated the electrolytes or the symptoms and blew me off'.
This type of appraisal has been repeated to me over and over from friends and loved ones (my husband included).
As medicine today is ruled by market forces, things are only going to get worse. Your insurance will determine your fate. Dr Onwuka refuses to practice that way.
If you just want 'a pill for that' or just want something to reinforce your opinions like your favorite news program, don't bother going to him, save his valuable time for those who need real health care.
