  I just finished the Florida course in Jacksonville (Atlantic Beach). I want to congratulate Jake on his first class and thank him for being an awesome teacher! Jake was very informative and extremely thorough in each step. Every question he answered with a hands on explanation. The area is great for a solo trip or if you bring family along. Living in Florida I was very happy to hear they opened up a course down here. I highly recommend this course if you are like me with little experience, you will learn everything you need to get started in this field.

  I took the class in Jacksonville, Fl with John’s son Jake Cavender. Jake’s knowledge and professionalism is top notch and he is a great teacher. The entire experience was so amazing. Class and then spending time with my family at the beach was the best!
  I absolutely recommend doing the in person class for hands on experience. The step by step process, while having someone there to show you exactly what needs to be done and answer any questions you may have, is definitely the way to do it.
  Jake and John answered every single question I had, and I had a lot of questions. They gave me the confidence I need to take my business to the next level.

  Just wrapped up Boat Canvas University two days ago and wanted to share what a terrific week it was! John’s expertise was obvious as was his ability to convey that knowledge and passion in clear, interesting, and thorough manner. His methods work as I would be happy to have every single student’s Bimini, front and side curtains installed on my boat! Not only was the class great, but I observed, first hand, how accessible and helpful he is to former students. Many thanks for a great experience and I look forward to a long lasting friendship!

  I completed the February workshop last week and enjoyed every minute of it. I walked in on the first day with very little experience and thought I was in way over my head. With John's knowledge and instruction I was able to gain the skill, feel confident and complete the course with the ability to continue down the path of canvas work. If you are thinking of learning this trade, I would highly recommend attending the Boat Canvas University and learning from John C.

  I Just finished the class at Boat Canvas University and I couldn’t be happier. The small class sizes really help you learn John’s Method which included everything from building the bimini frame to patterning and fabricating the enclosure. John was always willing to answer whatever question we could come up with, and we had a lot. He has this down to a science and I am grateful that he is willing to share his knowledge to help others get into this lucrative career.
