  After long wait on line outside, had the perfect clam chowder with large serving of whole clams, potatoes, without the thick cream. Combo fried plate was also perfection. Pricey. Narrow bench seating. Great.

  Basic clams, fish and chips, lobster etc. By the water in Essex. Usually crowded. All well prepared in picnic fashion

  Excellent steamers, great chowder that isn't overly thick, abundant fried seafood plates, nice beer selection. Classic old time building. Woodmans will always have a place in my heart. Bring patience as there is often a line to order.

  We have been going here a few times every year for over 25 years. Counter service with a rustic dining area. Get drinks at a separate counter. So nice to go in the off season when there is no line. Enjoy the outside picnic area when the weather is warm. It's a fried food mecca. Exceptional fried clams, and the clam cakes are very good. We like everything on the menu. Lobster available all year.
