We had Polar Bear come by and do a complete home insulation improvement through MassSave. Originally they were contracted to come for one day but noticed a few issues missed by MassSave, like how our walls were lacking the proper amount of insulation. Polar took care of everything quickly and efficiently; they came back within 5 calendar days and finished the job! The crew on site were friendly, polite and clean; any mess left behind was cleaned. The crew chief was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions during the in-depth explanation of what they were doing to improve our home. 10/10 would recommend Polar Bear even without MassSave involved!
Easily the best experience I’ve had with contractors in 8 months of home ownership. I got connected with Polar Bear through Mass Save, so there was already an extra layer of red tape built in. Peter came out ahead of the scheduled work date to scout the job and noticed a few areas not covered in the original Mass Save audit and some obstacles to completing the work. He and his accounts manager worked directly with Mass Save to make sure the job was done right the first time, and I didn’t have to deal with any of the back-and-forth myself.
On the day of the work, James and his crew were on time, incredibly professional, worked efficiently, explained everything they were doing, and worked around our schedule (pushed all indoor work to day 2 so we could get the kids out of the house, took their lunch break while I had a work meeting so the noise didn’t interfere). They also went above and beyond what I would’ve expected – James helped me dismount a heavy TV so that he could insulate the hole in the wall behind it and properly seal it, then helped me re-mount the TV.
I can’t speak to the pricing because that’s all standard through Mass Save. But the work quality was great, we noticed a difference in temperature and even street noise immediately, and they worked efficiently. I can’t recommend Polar Bear highly enough.
Great service from these guys Peter, James, Frankie (might be Freddy) are very professional, wonderful and skilled. Each step of the process was well explained, all of our questions were answered. They showed up a little before 8am and left around 3 or 4pm. From beginning to the end it was a wonderful experience. When they left it was as if they never had been here. We thought we would have to replace some of the shingles they took off to blow in the insulation but they did a great job at keeping them all in one piece and putting them back. It Doesn’t even look like any of them were taken off. They did an amazing job! The temperature in the house is much better and easier to regulate now. We had to wait several weeks for our appointment but it was worth the wait!!
Went through MassSave and chose Polar Bear. They had to remove old insulation, install baffle, vent a bathroom fan that was not done right and blow in 21” of insulation while maintaining a walkway to my AC unit... Nice guys. Clean work (as best as can be with blown in insulation). Reliable... Will definitely use them in the future.
We worked with Polar Bear and Mass save to re-insulate the knee-wall in the 3rd floor of our house. These guys were awesome. They gave good money saving advice. Peter, who I talked to on the phone, was really professional and sounded like he knew his stuff. Scheduling was easy. When the team arrived, Zach, Max, et al were very professional. They laid down coverings from their truck all the way to the work space, covered all the furniture in the room, did it all in the morning, vacuumed before they left, leaving no trace ... lucky they are in the insulation business cause they would make excellent thieves j/k! Honestly, these guys are great. Highly recommend them.
