Essex Street Inn & Suites, Ascend Hotel Collection

Beautiful place and area. Got a room on the top floor. It was pretty and clean but small. The skylight was nice!

My two biggest complaints are parking and the shower. Very few parking spots and they even said there are more rooms than they have parking spots. So that was kind of a hassle. Maybe the showers on other floors are different but I wouldn’t know.

The shower was terribly small. The shower curtain sticks to your leg. There is no room to move and I’m not a large person. I do have long hair and the water pressure was also bad. The shower head was high and I am short so it was difficult to wash my hair.

The breakfast was decent. A few basic options. A lot of things in walking distance which was cool!

Rooms are clean and in good condition. Adequate parking. Friendly service staff. Minimal breakfast service, but they had a normal selection of quick breakfast snacks. You'll be with walking distance of a few restaurants for any meal. I'd go back again because it's right in the center of town. I recommend this hotel.

We stayed in the Essex for our wedding weekend and had a room block there for family as well. What a wonderful experience! Kathy helped us coordinate our room block and was lovely, communicative, and helpful. The Inn itself is stunning, filled with old world charm. The location could not be better for exploring Newburyport. Everyone had a wonderful time and we would absolutely stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at the Essex Inn & Suites. The staff members are cheerful and kind. They are happy to help in any way. The entire place is clean and very comfortable. Towels are beautiful. The beds are comfortable. I will stay here again and again. This place added to our vacation in the best way.
