I started training with Daybreak Crossfit when i turned 48 and it feels like i have rolled the clock back 10 years. I had shy'd away from Crossfit for a number of reasons. I thought that it was too competitive, that it was too intense, i was afraid id get injured, i thought i knew enough to work out on my own etc. After just a few session, the Daybreak team completely changed my perspective.
This particular Crossfit program is very easy to step into no matter where you are starting your journey. When i joined, I noticed immediately that most of members are in their late 30's to mid-50's (Yes, older people can do this too!). I also immediately noticed that the trainers are hyper-focused on making sure members don't injure themselves . There is a lot of focus on warm ups, stretching and technique and they pay close attention to scaling workouts to match people's abilities. As an added bonus they regularly run easily approachable nutrition, endurance and flexibility challenges. I dropped 30lbs in my first 3 months!
If you are at a point in your life where you are open to trying something new that will help you transform into the best version of yourself i highly recommend taking a first step with Daybreak. Doesn't need to be a big step just a step in the right direction.
I was afraid to try CrossFit as they workouts and the ultra fit people who do them seemed like light years away from my current levels of fitness but Erica took the time to make sure to modify the exercises and monitor my form to prevent injury.
She went through a thorough warm up and pushed us appropriately through the routine itself. I really enjoyed pushing myself and using the energy of the group to keep going.
The facility is first rate , lots of space , great equipment and encouraging atmosphere. Highly recommended .
Daybreak North is 5 star fitness facility. The sheer size of the space offers the opportunity to move freely and never feel overwhelmed, even in a larger class. The coaches are incredible! Knowledgeable and they work with you; no matter your ability or capabilities. The workouts are challenging yet accessible. Of the 4 CrossFit gyms I have tried, I feel I have never worked this hard before, but in a good way!! Could not be more pleased with the way they run their business. Happy to be here.
