There are no words adequate to express my gratitude to and admiration of Dr. Amy Straut and her team at Angell West Physical Rehabilitation. I have a very old dog named Maggie who was experiencing mobility problems due to arthritis. Dr. Amy initiated a program of physical therapy (including sessions on a water treadmill and in a hydrotherapy pool) that have improved Maggie’s quality—and length—of life. She also recommended a harness and brace that made it possible to get Maggie up and down the stairs in our home. Going to PT was not only helpful for Maggie, but it was fun! She walked in the door with comfort and even joy, since she knew that she’d receive loving attention and help once inside. And not only are the visits to Angell West therapeutic for Maggie, but they are also incredibly helpful for me. The staff has come to feel like part of my extended family and meeting them is one of the best gifts I’ve received from Maggie. Dr. Amy and her team are extremely gentle, caring, knowledgeable, practical, and they always go above and beyond for both pet and pet owner. They have given both of us the kind of personal attention and care that I’ve never before experienced and, thanks to their treatment, Maggie has stayed comfortable and active.
