    Beautiful library I hadn't been there for awhile and it's been done over since my last visit. There are so many cool things for kids and adults.

    The layout of DPL is intuitive and efficient. The staff are the friendliest, most helpful, most delightful group I've ever encountered. Their children's room is an absolute gem for anyone under five years old, and for the older children, the robotics, VR, drone cage, and computer lab are a haven. The Dedham Library is a perfect example of how to give or younger generation what they want and need.

    Quaint, small library. Staff seem very friendly and they even have a loaner a library of tools, cooking equipment, sporting goods, and other fun things. NOT a good place to come to study or work though, as they don’t have enough space with tables. High back chairs in the main area are pretty, but not good for people of shorter stature

    Really great library. Very friendly neighborhood & town. Lots to offer for kids as well.

About Us - Dedham Public Library

An act of legislature chartered the present Dedham Public Library on March 24, 1871. The Library Association endowed 2,977 books to the new building, a rented room over Thomas J. Baker's store on the corner of Court and Norfolk Streets. Francis M. Mann, a long-time member of the Library Association, was elected as the librarian.
