Warm Greetings! TWO REVIEWS: FIRST THE GOOD ONE:
I would like to take the time to share my experience at Arbour Counseling Norwell. My therapist met my expectations. I got blessed to be matched up with my therapist, Kerri. I told Kerri that none of this personal growth that I accomplished would have happened without your Compassion, Strength, Encouragement, Listening, Honest feedback, Homework, Nurturing kind demeanor, in our harmonious meetings.
Kerri always says that I (me) did all the work, and then, (huff) I have to correct her- and say, BUT not without YOU!!! And I mean that from the bottom of my heart! I'm receiving what I came in there for.. finally searching for a better version of myself, without changing who Iam! To find the best in myself! To always have HOPE!

I learned from Kerri, that "Everything is going to be OK..let's just get through this..we CAN do this!"

BAD EXPERIENCE 2nd REVIEW: goes to a med lady, (I will not give out her name, I'll keep it as classy & private)....people, just please be careful and if you do not feel comfortable with someone, just go with your gut instinct about that individual. If you feel like you are talking to a plant, I'm sure it's not a great feeling.
Let me tell you what really happened.... I took a mental health leave from work and needed some paperwork filled out which she did for me just to get me off her back. Didnt show me any empathy or uplifting words towards my situation. When it was time to go back to the job that I loved, I needed her to sign the paperwork, which is part of the protocol at my job..I want to do everything right. When it was time to sign the paperwork, so I can comfortably and safely go back to work, she refused to and gave zero explanation as to why. Just hid on her dark office with zero explanation. I had 2 staff members get her attention and still no answer other than she refuses to sign. If she was busy, I would have no problem being patient & returning the following day either. I came this far in life and I will not allow someone like this individual to crush my spirits. Before all this happened, a major red flag was that she has missed several appointments with me and never any concern about it or follow ups. Claimed she didnt have my updated number. She darn well has my phone number! Now, I just see a unfriendly rude woman who just wants a paycheck. But that's OK! It's all GOOD! I'm glad I know what kind of individual I was with. I will never lower myself to be in her presence again. I MUCH rather take a Tylenol PM to sleep and talking to a cactus plant would have been more beneficial for my mental health plan. My therapist gets a 5 star! "Med lady" negative zero! Have a great day and be cautious people! Nobody is going to be your best advocate other than yourself! I had a LOVELY meeting with my Director at my job and everything worked out BEAUTIFUL for me in the end. All is good :)

The bandwidth was excellent & audio was clear. I wasn’t booted out & maintained my presence.
While online isn’t the same, I really appreciate that the majority of the participants are dealing with similar issues & are in my stage of life.
The in-person program was helpful, but it was hard to stay present because I had to travel 40 min each way & the topics were so overwhelming & I had little time to process the materials/info.

Also, the in-person program consisted of older teens & young adults (ages 18 to 24). While they were very quirky & had some similar interests (like cats, reading, fantasy), they are in a different stage of life that is hard to relate to.
The in-person program’s participants needs & coping skills were more akin to former clients & patients of mine in the past. I’m well aware of the method because of my training, but it doesn’t translate into action.
My case manager recommended the virtual program because of the approach is different & participants are approximately middle age which means the focus is different (whereas the in-person were dealing w/young adult transitions: going to college, moving out of their parent’s home).
Even though it’s been only a little over a day, I have learned so much in the program.
    Thank goodness for technology!

I went with an open mind and a need to stay sober. In the group sessions I found myself trying to help others cope.
Thought that most of it was common sense or knowledge that I already had.
It is now that I know how much I learned and think back on those meetings and say.
They were right. I don't know it all.
Sobriety is a learning curve and that new knowledge may not be used for months to come.
Thank you to my councillor Michelle S.
