Staybridge Suites Detroit - Novi, an IHG Hotel

I had to stay here for a few months for work and a few months in a different hotel for work as well. This was by far the most comfortable of the two. They have guest entrances in the back, so once you're checked in, you don't have to make the awkward walk through the front desk, and they keep your room very clean. The front desk is very nice if you do ever need anything.

I was impressed with my stay here during an extended power outage at my home. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the queen studio room. I thought it was plenty of space for 1 person, although it probably would be a bit cramped for 2. It is a really quiet hotel, especially during the day. It is set far back from the main road (and not next to a freeway like many other hotels). It is on the outer part of the campus of Ascension Providence Hospital. They are pet friendly, including allowing 2 small pets and the pet fee for up to a 30 day stay is a one time (non-refunded, deep cleaning) fee of $75. Hotel staff was also friendly and supportive.

Previously, during similar situations I had stayed at the [other brand here] extended-stay type hotel and was not nearly as satisfied (although the price was cheaper).

Breakfast:
I also really appreciated that the breakfast here always has cooked rice available. They have a lot of Japanese customers and they have rice and miso soup available daily as well as eggs and a meat of some sort. I am gluten-free so rice is great in the mornings.

Wi-fi: (IHG member-type) free wi-fi was fine for my work needs, including some internet video conferencing.
