Lafayette Grande Banquet Facility - Traveling Chef Catering

We tried a few caterers before sticking with Traveling Chef. We couldn’t have been any happier to have this amazing company cater our wedding day. They had great food at a great price. Huge shout out to Ryan, Greg and Lauren! I’d recommend this crew to anyone.

I cannot say enough about how perfect the Lafayette Grande was for our wedding reception! We got married on 01.14.23. The wedding venue search was a long & challenging one for us. We were torn between wanting a beautiful ballroom & wanting 250 guests and it didn't seem like we could afford both. We searched all over metro-Detroit until, finally, we found the Lafayette Grande. They have it all; a gorgeous grand ballroom, a balcony level, historical significance and very affordable pricing. We were able to invite even more than our 250 guests!!

The owners of the Lafayette Grande truly care about each couple they work with. You never feel like just another transaction. They worked with us for the look we wanted - even making a 40-person captains table for us! They met with us as often as we liked and patiently & timely responded to our 1 million questions. They even called me personally during the holidays to let me know that, despite the business being closed for Christmas, they had everything ready to go for our wedding and not to worry.

The day of, they were professional, attentive & efficient. The venue was beautiful, they asked my husband and I for our preferred drinks and had them waiting for us at the head table. They made our plates for us at the buffet and just handled everything with precision & subtlety. All our guests had so much fun, the food was delicious and everything ran so smoothly!

Truly, I cannot recommend the Lafayette Grande highly enough. It was the perfect venue for the perfect day!

A very historic building. 5 floors, multiple banquet rooms. The room on the 4th floor the ceiling is open to the 5th. We did cocktail hour and a Photobooth on the 5th floor. Dinner and dances on the 4th. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Elevator access from the loading and unloading area in the basement all the way to the 5th floor. The old school atmosphere makes this venue something special.

We had our wedding and reception in the Crystal ballroom. Everything was amazing! The food, bar, staff, and ballroom were outstanding. I highly recommend the Lafayette Grande! The owners are amazing and so knowledgeable about the buildings history. It is a one-of-a-kind venue that you and your guests will not forget!

We just had our wedding here this past weekend and it was absolutely stellar. The food was phenomenal. The staff was accommodating and attentive. We literally couldn't have asked for a better experience on our wedding day. All of the guests have been raving about the beauty of the venue and how excellent the food was! My mom was even told by some that it was the best wedding they've ever attended. I couldn't be more grateful for the venue providing such a fantastic experience and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great venue!
