My son 'graduated' from Somerset quite a few years ago, (he's a senior in high school now). I have always recommended the preschool to friends and acquaintances over those years, and find myself forwarding the website again today, which led me here to comments. My son made such good friends at Somerset, and most of the credit goes to the wonderful faculty (Ms. Nancy, Ms. Sheela, Ms. Anne, etc...). They all provided a healthy, early socialization environment that really helped him start to develop the friendship and problem-solving skills he needed at that early age, something much more difficult to do at home. I was also always very impressed with the fun, educational and creative activities they organized along with their patience and genuine kindness towards the children and families. My son was a student there the morning of the 9-11 attacks and I'll never forget the quiet compassion and care the staff projected to the class while so many of us Moms were running in, feeling so anxious and upset. So our time at Somerset 13-16 years ago have made it a 'must' to continue recommending to others.

The Somerset Staff have been nothing but marverlous not only with my daughter but the entire family. I remember when my daughter first started last year, she had a very hard time (and so did I honestly leaving my 2.5yr old in her very first "pre-school"). Not only did Ms. Shellia speak in my native language to help calm her down but Ms. Dianne would call me to reassure me, she had stopped crying and was adjusting well. Everyone knew that the transition was not only difficult for my daughter but for us as well. To help assure my concerns & keep me involved as a working mother, Ms. Nancy would e-mail me pictures of how well she was doing throughout the year.

I initially started my daughter at Somerset in May once she turned 2.5yrs for one month just to see how she would handle preschool and to make sure it was the best place for her. I continued with Somerset for the 2015-2016 school year not only for the excellent curriculum but also the excellent staff that gave a personal tough to everyone. Many other local preschools also focus on teaching a high standard curriculum, however Somerset staff look at each child individually and ensures they develop into well rounded young children. Ms. Nancy has been the best preschool teacher I could have ever asked for her. I know that Ms. Nancy and the staff truly cares for my daughter while she is at school, and their passion to help her excel is evident in every aspect.

I HIGHLY recommend Somerset Early Childhood Center for any parent looking for preschool for their child.

When I needed to find a preschool for my daughter, I didn't want a "day-care", I wanted a school, with a structured learning program, proven success, and a strong family-oriented community of people who cared about their children like I cared for mine. I found all that and more at Somerset, and couldn't be happier with our decision to send our daughter there. This school topped my radar initially because numerous teachers highly raved of the program, and their experience there (which I believe is one of the highest forms of flattery- coming from other educated professionals in the field). After my initial tour, I was sold on the program and the teachers, and it has been an amazing experience. I've watched Ms. Nancy, Ms. Melissa, and Ms. Debbie help my daughter bloom and grow into a well mannered young woman, and the structure and guidance they have provided far surpassed my initial expectations. The administrators, other involved parents, and students only complete the package....I can't imagine where my daughter would be without her Somerset experience!

Somerset, hands-down, is the BEST early education experience you can give your child. When it came time to choose a school for our young children, I searched far and wide for the best in the area- and this is, by far, was the only option. Both of my children, whom are very different learners, have attended Somerset for preschool, Pre-K, and the Kindergarten Enrichment programs. Both entered public school kindergarten with confidence, the ability to self-regulate their emotions, the ability to navigate social situations, and well above-average literacy and math skills. Somerset's success is due to their highly qualified staff, developmentally appropriate approach to instruction, rigorous curriculum, and use of cutting edge educational research. In addition, from the very first day I have felt a genuine care and compassion for the students from every staff member, which always gave us a level of comfort we had never felt at other schools. We are so pleased in our experience at Somerset !

I love the flexibility of the program...you pick the days your child attends, based on your family's needs. I also love to take advantage of "drop-in" days for lunch or another session, if I have something else planned. I always know I have reliable child care in an enriched environment.

They are play-based and have the most creative ideas! The faculty has the children's interests in mind when planning their themes. Each classroom is age appropriate and utilizes extensions and simplifications for every activity. This program makes the children feel safe and loved and I am thrilled to be a part of it!
