This is a little gem of saved history. There is a children's garden to enjoy in good weather, restored barns, milk house, the museum itself, and there are tours of the house on some days. We missed the house tour but still had lots of things to see and enjoy. We plan to return for the house tour and maybe holiday tea.
I highly recommend a visit if you haven't been there. And read Petticoat Surgeon, the auto- biography of Bertha Van Housen whose family owned the farm. Quite an amazing woman!
We had the most beautiful wedding at Van Hoosen. Jenna was so great to work with. She was helpful in answering questions and really went above and beyond the day of the wedding. The grounds were beautiful. They were so accommodating and had back up plans in case it rained (which it did before and after the wedding). We can't say how much we appreciated her and the entire Van Hoosen team.
Beautiful area to walk around and explore. Nice place to walk the dog as well. Every where you look you'll find something interesting.
Didn't get to visit the museum because we went at nighttime, but it was still very nice and the Halloween Wall of Pumpkins was cool to look at. My son and I will go back during the day to check out the museum 😊.
My daughter had her wedding here and it was beautiful. They have a place for the bride to get ready before the ceremony. The ceremony was held in front of a gazebo. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. They have a small stream with a bridge. Everything was magical... it was so beautiful. Afterward, the reception was held in their barn. It is a bit small, but we had 100+ people and made it work. Overall, both the bride and groom were super happy with their day. BTW, we had AMAZING weather, which made it extra special.
