Ford Rouge Factory Tour

This tour is a must! Be sure and get your tickets in advance. I loved the tour of the factory floor and seeing the F150 trucks during final assembly. It was so facinating to see each part (body, doors, box) of the truck being assembled by automation, human hands, and human-guided automation. Sorry, no photos are allowed there.

I really enjoyed it! I learned a lot. The tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend going. Give yourself 2 hours to see everything without rushing.

What an amazing tour. I'm a manufacturing junkie and this was a great fix. The assembly line is so interesting to watch and who can resist classic cars. We both enjoyed the video and robotic presentation.

This is a must-do for anyone that has an interest in the auto industry or manufacturing in general. The tour includes a couple of videos about the history of Ford and the design of the current F150. There's also an interesting stop to view Ford's "living roof" before continuing to the factory tour. Inside the plant you walk a self-paced loop above the final assembly area of the plant. The tour finishes with a display of some older Ford vehicles. Buses run every 20 minutes so you're not on a fixed timeline.

Very nice place to visit and watch them make F-150 pickups. I enjoyed it a lot. Wish I could have seen them put the engine in the pickup.
