The swim beach is plenty big so there is space for all. The river rocks make it a tad hard to walk and water shoes are suggested. However, it’s a nice beach overall.

As a side note, we booked a day shelter to be sure that we had a place for our group. On the map it looked close to the water and the reviews also made it seem as such. However, it was not close to the water so we didn’t end up using it.

Great park for camping or a day visit. We LOVE site #21. Great views of the water though no direct access to water unless you hike down the very steep side. Super short drive to the pepple beach. Clean bathrooms. No shade at the beach and can get very busy on weekends. Definitely worth bringing your inflatable boats or paddle boards, lots of beautiful places to explore on the water. Very kid friendly.

Nice park for an afternoon hike. Great views through the junipers with steep banks. Seemed like less people than other parks around lake Georgetown.

We actually rowed our boat gently down the lake. 😆 We were camping at Jim Hogg and saw Russell Park had a beach of sorts so we hopped in our little blow up boat and husband rowed us there. Took about an hour or 2 going against the current, but it was such a lovley day we didn't mind a bit. The beach turned out to be small pebbles, but they were smooth and comfortable to sit and play in. Next time we are in town, we plan to check out Russell Park and see what else they have to offer.

It was our first time in this park. We rented cabin #10, which has an excellent location. This cabin is very close to the bathrooms and was in perfect conditions. It is an excellent place to camp, to enjoy nature and do activities on the lake.
