Went to fish fry was Great.

Such a wonderful church with the best people. I'm so grateful my family and I had the chance to be taken in and accepted and meet so many great people from there. Y'all made a tough time in my family's lives such a great experience and I know something I'll never forget. Thank you! GOD bless!

🐟Have you ever wished time would just slow down? Wished you could go back to simpler times? Revisit the days of yester-year?

Well now you can! If you visit St. Bridget's of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindstrom, Minnesota Friday's during lent for Fish Fry.

Run by church volunteers and some hard working kids, you'll likely have to wait in line, but the smell of beer batter fish & decaf coffee will tide you over until you hand over your dinner tickets to the priest & someone hands you a paper plate.

Once you go through the chuckwagon-style food service, you grab the next available seat at a around table. You'll either sit with a younger family or some older folks that will remind you of your grandparents.

Our dinner conversations started out about recent hip replacements & other medical ailments and then the rest of the dinner conversation was replaced by fish tales.

Dinner here wasn't just about that good ol' Church Dinner food but taking a break from the chaos and all the updates I was getting on my phone about the latest homicide in the cities, the Russian / Ukraine conflict, and the latest neighborhood break-in.

Everything stoped, we ate together, laughed with strangers & got to hear from our older neighbors about how they were doing after a long 2 years of covid isolation.

The only thing missing from tonight's dinner, was the wooden spoon for the ice cream and some good old fashion Church-lady "bars" for dessert.

Great modern Church in a small town. Our experience was topped off when we saw the celebrant was a Priest in training who was one of our son's classmates!

A great bunch of people running this place! I can only really talk about the Hannah's Arms/Baby Blanket program where new or expecting mothers can earn a crib, car seat, or pack-n-play at no cost to them. They offer free child care and allow parents a chance to enjoy a little 'adult time' making a craft and an educational topic - which is especially helpful for first time parents! I simply cannot express in words how wonderful this program is!
