Small but the people there were super warm and welcoming. They were more then welcome to talk and chat about the airlines and aviation. They kind of have strange hours so check before going.
It’s a hidden gem in mn. It’s small and a little bit hard to find, but it’s a must stop for plane enthusiasts. The staff was very knowledgeable and nice. He shared a lot of his work experience as a airplane mechanic. There is a real retired control panel you can play.
The gift shop has many souvenirs at reasonable price.
It may be a little hard to find in the hotel, but be persistent! It's well worth a visit, even if you have no connection with NWA. Lots of memorabilia and artifacts from airlines that were folded into NWA such as airplane models, uniforms, seats, dinnerware, playing cards, even cigarette lighters. They have so much of it, they even have branded items for sale at a reasonable price for the true aviation buff. Vince gave me a personal tour which I truly enjoyed. Admission is free, and it's totally supported by volunteers who used to work for the airline, so please consider a generous donation.
Great museum, terrific and knowledgeable staff! If you are a Northwest Orient Airlines buff, or aviation enthusiast, this is a must stop!
They will even let you hit the gong!!!
