  I brought in a 2008 avolite pearl lighting console for service to monkey wrench around the beginning of may. The technician told me parts can be hard to come by but they’ll get to work on it because they have a couple people they can call. The backlight to the LED was not functioning properly. Everything else on it worked just fine overall. Several months later the only real responses I had received were that they at monkey wrench were working on other peoples rush repairs and not mine, which gets old and frustrating. Low and behold my colleague who works more regularly with the shop gets the skinny….. they can’t actually find the parts they need for my repair. The reason they were putting off working on my console was to not inflate me bill needlessly. So ultimately they were trying to save me money.
  
  While I certainly do appreciate the shop operating in a cost effective manner for me as a consumer I still find the entire situation frustrating. My console was there for 3 months and I’m sure they knew after about a month they wouldn’t be able to fix it. Had they just contacted me to let me know “we can’t find the parts for your board, so you might as well come get it” I’d have had jo issue with that. I would have been able to find an alternate solution for my summer calendar, but instead the technician slow rolled it and kept me on the line expecting it to get actual work done.
  
  So 4 stars for trying to save me money not 5 stars for the wasting the 2 months time.

  The staff at Monkey Wrench has been very helpful to my business for years. Always knowledgeable of industry standards and quick with advice. They always have the supplies and parts I need in stock and even offer to give me a basket every time I come in.

  I love this place. They have a great location. Their staff knows their stuff. It feels like a Mom&Pop type place, yet totally professional, with top shelf wares. Most importantly they are really great in the repair department, I wouldn't go anywhere else, I have been everywhere else. They also have a great selection and prices lower than you would expect at a location of that size. They get it, and it's obvious they are as passionate about the art/business as anyone else who makes a living in this field. Go in and get stuff there, skip the out of town/online stores. When you need something hard to find, and you need it NOW, you're going to be glad this place is there. The only thing the place lacks is a big goofy dog to welcome you when you step in. It's that type of place. My suggestion is a pittie named Monkey. I'll bring treats.
