(July 2, 2021, 4:08 pm)They gave me the observation room. I had a terrible night of drinking alcohol and the cops brought me there. Thank god not to jail. Even though the next day when I sobered up, I thought I was in jail lol because of how the rooms were. The counselor was very nice, talkative and helpful. I got there around 2am and left at 5pm the same day. The counselor allowed me to stay in her office and call my bf several times until he picked me up. This isn’t a 5-star hotel but it’s nice enough. Only thing that annoyed me is when I’m napping, that’s when peoples want to come in and talk. But when I’m awake nobody comes and talk gosh lol

(November 27, 2020, 10:30 pm)I don't really know what people expect from a county run detox center. No one is throwing hundreds of thousands of dollars at them to make it a five star facility. I just got out of Ramsey County Detox after spending not quite 48 hours there, and I have nothing but good things to say about the staff there. I have been to that detox a few times and when I went years ago, it was not a good experience. The staff was indifferent and didn't want to be bothered. This time, and the time before, the staff was amazing and I had two separate staff members go out of their way to tell me their stories and how I could and WOULD stay sober if I wanted it, and I do want it. My counselor was amazing, and the physician assistant I spoke with on two occasions impacted me more than she''ll ever know. I encountered nothing but kindness there, and for that, I'm grateful.
If you want to go to a high-end detox facility then find one and pay an arm and a leg. It's your choice if having your own room and a chef to make meals for you is what you want to get out of the experience. I was just happy to actually be helped emotionally and mentally when I was there - that's all I could have asked for. So I thank the staff from the bottom of my heart for that.
