The Dr. himself along with the majority of his staff are amazing. But 1-2 bad apples ruin ur fire all. I have been veryyy Sick a couple days now but with today being the worst so far. I had a 1:15-1:30 apt time, and actually arrived early. I had started calling a Little prior to arrival to let them know I was pulling up. The sign still hangs to call if yours sick, I was tryin to do just that . SEVENTEEN calls !! That’s how many times I called and when I did get an answer she would ask “ “can you hold please “ and not even give anyone time to respond before I’d hear click , on hold again. Finally giving up and my best friend just walking in. I say for a little bit , not too terribly long though. And was then called inside. The second young lady I interacted with , continued to repeatedly mispronounce my name. Unpin being called back I Asked who was the office manager? I tried to tell her that they need to do something about the rudeness and neglect of their front office staff…when she cut me off , ordering me like a child into room 2, and mumbling how she wasn’t going to death with it. I don’t want her to..I simply asked for the person I would file a complaint with….
I love the doctors at that office, and the care is great!! But being greeted in the manner I was is unacceptable!! I’m already sick and needing care…. Why does the front office staff have to make it worse.
I have been going to Dr Patel several years now and he is the best doctor I have been to I always get results there for my Heald conditions
I truly believe that Dr. Patel is the most caring, attentive, and competent DR in the Midsouth. I highly recommend him! I have several stories I could share pertaining to his competency, but I'll just mention the two most recent cases. A few years back I got really sick with some "mystery" illness that nobody could diagnose. I was in and out of various Dr's offices complaining of the same issues over and over, but I kept getting misdiagnosed. Frustrated and getting sicker, I finally decided to see Dr Patel. I'm serious now; while he was looking over my triage report, and before I even opened my mouth to tell him my symptoms, he mentioned that my heart rate was too high and said he'd like to check my thyroid levels. A week later I came back for my follow up and lab results. Come to find out, I had severe graves disease that whole time, which is life threatening without treatment.
More recently, I woke up with some swelling and tenderness in my jaw that seemed to pop up out of nowhere. I went to the ER and was told, without a test mind you, that I had a major case of strep throat. I was shocked because it definitely didn't feel like strep at all. I received a rocephin shot and was sent home with oral antibiotics. The next day I not only felt worse, the swelling was worse too. So, due to the fact that no test had actually confirmed the strep diagnosis and I was getting worse in spite of treatment, I felt it was in my best interest to get a second opinion. So I went to see another DR, and again without a test they said it's most likely strep. Ok I thought, I guess they're right then. Well day 3 my face was even bigger, plus by that point I'd developed an itchy, painful, red rash that was spreading down my neck and chest.(All in spite of treatment.) So I knew for sure then something was wrong. I felt the ER may try to stick to the strep diagnosis again; so I wanted to check in with DR. Patel first to see what he thought. He said it was a major salivary gland infection and the rash was due to the infection leaking into the surrounding tissues. He said it was serious and gave me another ab shot, made me an emergency same day appt to an ENT in Southaven.... whom BTW had no clue what to do.. but made me yet another same day emergency appt with a different ENT that he said was a specialist/surgeon. That ENT confirmed it was a salivary gland infection, said it may require surgery, and put me in the hospital right away. However, the ENT Specialist still didn't know what the rash was. I was hospitalized for nearly a week and put on multiple IV antibiotics/steroids. I had extensive testing done etc. Patel was the only DR that knew exactly what ailed me both times and he figured out the problem on the first visit, based solely on his evaluation alone; In both instances his diagnosis was 100 % correct as confirmed by the CT scan, and labs. So yeah needless to say he really knows his stuff... I'll definitely be sticking with Dr. Patel from here on out. I feel very blessed to have him as my PCP, and I know I couldn't ask for a better DR.
