Our family's experience with Dreaming Tree was better than we could've possibly imagined. From the first appointment with Darcie and Kendra, to the actual birth at home, the level of care and patience shown to my wife (and our children who often tagged along to appointments) was unlike anything we had ever experienced before. Unlike many medical facilities, where children are considered an annoyance and a burden, the midwives at Dreaming Tree allowed our little ones to hear their new baby brother's heartbeat, to help their Mom with check-up related tasks, and to truly feel involved in the whole process. They treated us like family and friends, not just customers.

On the day of birth, everything went off smoothly thanks to the patience, professionalism, and proficiency of the team that came to our home. It was better than we anticipated in every way, and the Dreaming Tree crew greatly exceeded our every expectation. We are so grateful for these women in allowing us to welcome our new baby into the world from the comfort of our home.

"Thank you" truly isn't enough to convey our gratitude.

When I found out my little human was growing I knew that a hospital birth was not the path for me. I always felt a pull towards home birth and went with my instinct. I went on google and typed “nice midwife near me”. Darcy looked sweet and warm and I decided to book the initial visit.

Dealing with a recent pregnancy loss and severe hypermesis left me feeling very emotionally and physically raw. The moment I met Darcy I could feel that rawness go away, she radiates warmth and love. She is authentic and all I wanted for my home birth. She listened to me and guided me through my long never ending brutal pregnancy. 2020 was insane and despite it, Darcy always held and made the space to be loving, kind , warm and patient at every visit.

The home birth was relaxed and calm, I felt zero pressure or stress around me. It was dim and comfortable and my body could just take its time. It was life changing and momentous, in a really authentic messy way. I love Darcy, Ilona, Annie, and Kendra. All the badass babes out here catching babies, thank you. I highly recommend Darcy and her team.

    Peace, love and happiness,

    Lindsey, Brad and Malachi

I have given birth in a birth center, hospital, and now, thanks to the help of Darcie and her team, in the comfort of my home. I switched around 37/38 weeks pregnant at the start of the pandemic. After a phone call and in person consultation with Darcie, we knew it was the right choice for us. She eased the worries of my husband and comforted me in an anxious thoughts I was having. She had everything all organized and it was a smooth transition to her care. Although I didn’t have much time with her before the birth, I still felt like I had known her for a much longer time period. She took the time to really make sure we felt comfortable with our decision. She never rushed our appointments. She listened to all my concerns and helped me make the decisions I needed to make. I’m looking back at all three of my births and I wish they had all been a home birth with Darcie! I had always had in the back of my mind the wish to have a home birth, but had too much fear. I also had a husband with too much fear and anxiety of the situation that I could never even get a consultation. A positive thing from the pandemic was the ability to get a consultation because my husband didn’t feel safe in a hospital setting anymore. We still talk about the ease of how smoothly things went. I was ready to push when Darcie arrived. He was born 30 mins after she arrived. I hardly knew her assistant was here “working” other than when she was feeding me breakfast after the birth and providing me support. (She makes a yummy breakfast!) It was such a Positive experience for the whole family. Seeing my husband’s joy of the decision made it even better. My daughters both woke shortly after he was born and were apart of the process of getting his measurements etc. I was even impressed when she paid attention to the detail of how she would “stitch” me up knowing my personality and that I would not sit still for the one option. She really did take the time to get to know me in such a short time. I’m also grateful for all the postpartum care and her making sure we were doing well those first six weeks. She was available via text for any concerns I had and always messaged back within a reasonable amount of time. She did have a student Midwife attending some of the postpartum appointments... But she asked my permission before and gave advance notice if they were coming to an appointment. I could go on and on and on about all the great things she did for my family. Even though we said we are done having children, I almost want another one to have the experience again with her! Thank you 🙏 Darcie and team!

As a first time mom, I was sure I wanted a home birth, but very nervous about finding a good midwife. When I interviewed with Darcie, I immediately felt so much care and warmth from her that I began to get excited about the whole experience. Throughout our prenatal care, I was amazed at how Darcie went above and beyond to ensure my husband and I had our needs met, our questions answered, and our fears addressed. She was very open and encouraged us to invite family members who had concerns to meet with her, which really helped my mom feel at ease and confident in the care we were receiving. I truly felt like I gained a friend, not just a care provider. Darcie was extremely patient with me and monitored not only my physical health, but spent a considerable time checking in at each appointment on my mental and emotional health as well, even helping me get care with a therapist when needed. Our birth was such a beautiful experience, and I'm so grateful she was there. I had a long labor, with my water breaking before contractions started, and my son getting stuck and needing extra help to get out. Darcie carefully monitored me and kept me calm and updated the whole time and she was so knowledgeable about getting labor started, and handling every challenge calmly. I felt so safe with her and my trust was justified: my son and I were perfectly healthy and received excellent care, including postpartum. I truly felt that Darcie went above and beyond for our family and I highly recommend her to anyone who wants a collaborative, respectful birth team.

We had the most amazing care from Darcie. 💜 I was so happy to have a care provider who treated me like a real person and not just another patient. Having her as a midwife meant that my husband and my 4 kiddos had the unique opportunity to be involved in each appointment and even at the birth! That meant everything to me! Any issues I had during pregnancy, Darcie quickly addressed and put me at ease. Her care during the labor and delivery was professional and kind. She was so empowering and I was treated like a queen by her and her assistant. I would highly recommend Darcie for the home birth of your dreams!
