  This place is wonderful. I am a member of the church and it was fun to bring my children to learn about it.

  A significant historical site for both Missouri and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The sister missionaries do a good job with the tours.

  We toured here last Friday the 30th of November. I thought they told us the tour was 1 hour but since there were only a few touring at the same time it went quicker. This is the site where the new Prophet Joseph Smith was locked up for 4 months over the winter in the 1830's. The Jail is inside the visitors center and has been reconstructed after being mostly torn down through the years. It was a great tour and very interesting information.

  At this visitor's center there are some really cool set ups that show the jail and what the conditions would have been where the early brethren lived for some time. The conditions were very cruel. It is always inspiring to me to hear how much these wonderful angelic people sacrificed so that others could reap the spiritual rewards.
