Fountain Lakes Park (North End)

This place is beautiful. I love the lake and across the trail is a creek also. My husband and I spent time at both. Very nice quiet place.

I havent caught any fish yet, but it is super fun to go fishing. There is also a good trail to walk on. Yet today I did see 2 copperheads! So be careful

I have been to this park more times than i can count. It is a fantastic example of the wonderful parks in St. Charles that are sadly underused. If you are fortunate enough to be here during sunrise or sunset you will be treated to an amazing view. Some people here fish, some people here walk, I usually ride my mountain bike or just stop by to enjoy the sunset or take a picture. It's a small treasure that people don't take for some reason. Check it out!! I took a pic on the south side of 370, probably called the "Skate park" but it is not. (this is the lesser south portion) You have to drive here from Elm Point Road to Huster. There is a nice asphalt trail that you used to be able to take under 370, but it is now currently submerged... for the last 5 years i think... If you are bored and looking to see some beautiful landscape, It's right here in Saint Charles!!! Go to Fountain Lakes park!! There is access going West down Fountain Lakes Blvd about half a mile and it is on your right- the main parking lot is here. Or (pro tip) you can drive west down Fountain Lakes Industrial Dr (1 street further north) away from hwy370 all the way to the end where there is a cul-de-sac and park your car there and you can be right in the middle of the trail!

I love this place, I hope many of you all learn to love it too, some of the trails have fallen to a small amount of disrepair - and it makes me sad. I do not fault the St. Charles Parks system as not may people use this hidden gem. And I have had several encounters with the St. Charles Park Rangers, all positive :)
