  After going to another local school for a computer aided drafting focused program and not feeling my money was well spent, I decided to try Ranken after a few recommendations for this exact program. It is a shorter, more accelerated program so I saw it as a great option to get through and into the field quick. Before I was even half way through the 16 month program, I already landed a paid part time position in the field working directly under engineers. Every day I get to be in class working in AutoCAD and Revit, then go directly to my job where I use those same programs in the same way to assist engineers and designers with their projects. If you want the most hands on route to work in building systems design, tour the campus and talk to the instructors. They have been there and done that. Now they’re showing others how to get there and do that.

  This program is a gateway directly into the upper middle class. In a little over a year you could radically change the outlook of your life. When it comes to system design there are very few competitive programs. Leaving you with minimal competition for work. I can not recommend this program strongly enough.

  Best program in Missouri. Both teachers are extremely knowledgeable and professional. I had taken previous engineering classes in the past, and this program is the most relevant to what you will experience in the field from designing to software and folder structure within Windows File Explorer. I was a tutor for the program as well. This program WILL set you up for success if you put in the time and don't miss assignments. The reading, teaching you how to reference information, and find equipment and parts in the plans (blueprints) will be relevant experience for what you are exoected to know in the field over time.

  Dan Stevens is by the far the best instructor I’ve had in my life time of being in school. He taught the class in a way everybody could understand even though everybody learned at different paces. I could ask him a question & he would explain it in anyway possible until I was able to comprehend the answer to my question. He was very thorough. Even after graduation, he has been a big help with resumes, giving me advice, etc.
  Highly recommend him as an instructor & the courses he is teaching. In regards to the Building Systems Engineering Technology major at Ranken, I am extremely grateful I was able to take this route in my career. I absolutely love what I do everyday in my career & want to encourage anyone who is looking for a career to look into this class as a career path.
