St. Luke's Des Peres Hospital: Emergency Room

I was promptly checked in, treated with courtesy, promptly taken to triage, and had tests done as necessary. Jan, the nurse that helped me was so kind and took really wonderful care of me. Olga (I think was her name) took me for my Cat scan and was very sweet and thoughtful as well. The doctor thoroughly explained everything and took his time with me. He was not a particularly warm individual, but I'm not looking to make a best friend, I just want proper treatment. I did experience a dirty bathroom in the entry area. There was urine all over the toilet seat, but all in all, I had the best ER experience I've ever had. I must note that it was not busy at all when I arrived. I was the only patient, so I can't attest to the running of the ER when it's hectic and busy. I drove from Rolla to go to St Luke's, and I will choose this hospital again in the future if I have an emergency. I especially appreciate Jan and her thoughtfulness and compassionate care. One of the best nurses I've ever had.

Was experiencing some sharp abdominal pain for about a week. Tried an Urgent Care out on Friday and they had me do a urine test and told me my samples were clean and sent me on my way which worried me since I had no answers or ideas about the pain. Decided to go to the ER last night cause the pain was persistent still I had some new raised skin over where the pain was happening. Glad I came in. I’ve never have had a better experience going to the ER. The staff was very kind, attentive, and ready to help. After a scan, a blood test, and urine sample it turns out I DO most likely have a UTI and already feel better with the antibiotics and anti-inflammatory. Hopefully I never have to come back. But if I do I will be making the drive out to this ER. My doctor was Dr. Martin. my nurse was named Janet. The person who helped me with my scans was named Neda. All wonderful people.

This is a small, quiet hospital with a small emergency room, and they took me right in. Quite a relief after being at Mercy a couple of months ago! Maybe I just got lucky, but there was no waiting. The nurses and doctor were very nice and compassionate, as well as the technicians. I was still there for quite a while, almost 4 hours, but at least I was in a quiet room. There was a little bit of a rush and there was only one doctor. It did seem like there was a lot of waiting involved, but they did everything they could to make me comfortable and kept me informed of what was going on. I would definitely go back to this emergency room instead of one of the larger hospitals!
