I know many of us in the Harrison/Giles neighborhoods have been frustrated by the seemingly endless construction the past 3 years. I spoke with Dennis Wilson today while waiting to reach the signal at 144th/Giles. I understand the work on Harrison is ahead of schedule and paving should be completed next month. This was originally intended to carry over into next year.

I raised concern over the length of time for these projects suggesting tighter schedules and incentives/penalties to reduce impacts to traffic. They are implementing these measures on an increased scale each year. There are challenges beyond our vantage that have to be dealt with including contractor performance, contract language, etc. While it takes time to change a culture, they are making progress.

Thanks Sarpy County for continuing in your efforts to provide us a safe and efficient transportation system.

These guys do a great job of maintaining our gravel roads and always have the roads plowed. They don’t get nearly the credit they deserve. Thanks for what you guys do.

The DMV. More efficient than you thought, but still a time sucker.
