(February 13, 2019, 4:08 am)Being near this Gracie Jui Jitsu (GJJ) school is like winning the lottery.
Anyone can find a Brazilian Jui Jitsu (BJJ) facility teaching the sports focus of Carlos Sr. but to find useful and potentially life saving self defense GJJ taught directly by Lee Sakai, student of Relson Gracie, the second eldest son of Helio Gracie, the man who created BJJ/GJJ and therefore invented the world's best self defense, is incredible! Not only was Lee taught by the best, but he teaches students like me in the best way possible. The facility and mats are kept clean. The students are friendly and safe when rolling (practicing). Having such direct access to the world's best self defense is amazing!
With this discipline; a child can protect themselves from a full size adult, women can defend against larger and stronger attackers, and everyone can safely protect themselves from harm regardless of the imbalance in size or strength. Superior to; Krav Maga, Muay Thai, and general Self Defense training for most people. -

(August 31, 2016, 9:02 pm)Visited Las Vegas earlier in the year and was looking for a place to train genuine Gracie Jiu Jitsu and fortunatley found Lee Sakai's place. Because I was not familiar with the location and area, I was about 1/2 hour away, Lee was kind enough to provide the easiest driving route to his school.
Lee is not only knowledgable but very personable, always willing to answer questions to help you learn. He even took the time to help me after class with specific tips from observing where I was struggling and what was perhaps holding me back from progressing further.
If you're like me, always open to learning wherever you are, what you get from Lee's academy is old school training, real self-defense Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, applicable for protecting yourself in the street while he does teach his students how to prepare for tournaments if that is your goal. Fortunately for those training at Relson Gracie Las Vegas Team HK you get an instructor who does compete too and knows what you'll need to be successful.
