    Is it worth the trip?

Yes! Its awesome! Lots of beautiful scenery that you dont have to hike to see, but you can hike and see even more!

Stay on the paved roads if you are driving a car, if you have a SUV, there are some cool roads that aren't paved leading to even more hiking trails!

Check out these pictures of the stunning colors of mountains and rocks!

We enjoy coming back every February. There is a good deal of information. It is a nice stop before exploring the park/trails. I would recommend a visit to anyone wanting a change of pace from the strip. A good place to relax and enjoy nature. For those of us from a different part of the country, it is a neat and local, outdoor experience.

The information desk people are always helpful. If you have questions about what hikes to take, where to find a signal (rare in the area), how to arrange to have a wedding in the conservation area, or anything else, these are the people who either know or can find the answer. Often the Friend of Red Rock will have a nature table there as well, and that's always informative.

You can also go outside to view the exhibits; most of them are outside rather than inside, since the weather is usually lovely for being outside. There are a couple of rescued tortoises who live in habitats there as well; they won't survive in the wild for one reason or another, and it's nice that visitors can actually have a good shot at seeing one. I've hiked Red Rock for 2 years and have never seen one in the wild.

Red Rock Canyon Recreation Area is nothing short of breathtaking. Take a guided excursion with a local company or guide yourself around the scenic loop. There are various picnic areas and hikes throughout the park. Hikes vary from easy to difficult. You will be able to find something fun and suitable for everyone in your group.

Super helpful Rangers and very nice facilities. Exceptionally clean and informative. They had a great movie and exhibits. We went during the Winter so the tortoises weren’t out but everything was still open. The park is very cheap, too, for what you get - 15 bucks per vehicle. The scenic drive takes about 35 minutes or so if you were to drive straight through. Exceptional, go!
