in 2004 my friend and i flew from here every other day for two weeks and we took an instructor as a guide each time... he showed us all of the little strips and one epic journey was nearly 400 miles away ... we experienced engine issues , weather issues, density altitude problems... he was absolutely brilliant and i think enjoyed it as much as we did.... he even picked us up from our hotel.... the staff at base were ever so friendly too... well worth going there to fly.....
I love West Air aviation. They are the best guys around and have a great fleet of training and cross country aircraft in the Las Vegas Area. Good prices on rental aircraft a fantastic 1937 Beechcraft Staggerwing that is commercially available for people to fly in and have a throwback to the early days of flight. All the staff are friendly and super courtious, they make you feel like family. I have flown all the planes there.
Two of my favorite planes are the Cessna 182RG and Cessna T-41, a once army trainer plane. Plenty of horsepower for any type of flight. I have been flying there for the past 3 years with no regrets.
