I have been a patient here since before COVID. It started with couples therapy with my partner and then moved to more of a one on one. Shana was absolutely amazing. I have a lot of respect for her and I wish her the best with this business but her employees are running the place into the ground. Where do I even start?
Firstly, I was disrespected multiple times when calling to make appointments with either Shana or Doctor Dick. To the point where I just stopped calling in to make my appointments. When I brought this issue up with Shana, she said to just reach out to her directly and not deal with anyone else. Easier said then done unfortunately.
Doctor Dick is another story. He was extremely unprofessional, unhelpful, and down right either sexist or misogynist. When I opened up to him about my drinking problem, he ask me when was the only time I hadn't consumed alcohol. I told him it was when I was pregnant. His response: maybe you should just stay pregnant then. There were so many phone calls like this. To the point where I wouldn't sit on the call by myself anymore because I was so scared to what he might say. Whenever I brought up that I thought my meds weren't working he would brush it off and say to wait it out another 6 weeks.
My final nail in the coffin was/is Elaine. I switched to her when I could not sit comfortably with Doctor Dick any longer. At first I liked her approach to testing out to see what medications would have a negative effect on me. We agreed to meet every two weeks as we were weaning me off all the meds Doctor Dick had put me on to try and see if I have ADHD instead of Bipolar 2, as I felt my meds were not working at all. A few weeks in things were going okay, but I wanted to bring my partner in on a session as he had beed experiencing a different perspective of what I was outwardly expressing vs how I felt on the inside. This resulted in Elaine stated multiple times that she wasn't sure if she could believe me anymore because what my partner was saying vs what I was saying was so different. Two weeks later I came back in. I noticed when she walked out into the office to get me that something was up. She wasn't smiling or anything. I brushed it off and just went back to her office. I even asked if she was okay before she shut the door and she expressed she was fine. When I sat down all hell broke loose. She stated that because my partner was so insistant that I get back on the meds I had been on before switching to her that she wasn't sure if she could believe me anymore. She stated the she spent all this time educating me and had felt lied to by the fact that I was expressing one thing and my partner had expressed another. I offered to bring my partner into the room as he was sitting in the waiting room and she absolutely refused. She then stated that she didn't need to see me every two weeks and that this was excessive. I felt so belittled, demeaned, and hurt. I felt like a child in the principals office. I immediately started breaking down and sobbing. I expressed that I didn't appreciate her talking to me like that and treating me as though I've been brushing off her education of the drugs she's been giving me. I then left her office ran right into the arms of my partner sobbing. Even Beverly came over and gave me some tissues. I was absolutely losing it in the lobby. Moments later Shana brought us back for our appointment, and she was clearly upset that I was so distraught. I tried as best as possible to explained what happened. She agreed that it wasn't right but she didn't know what was up with Elaine.
After getting home that day I received a text from Elaine "apologizing" what she really said was "you are so much stronger than you know". I'll attach a screen shot if I have it. Shana had told my partner that they would continue to fill my meds until I found a new doctor.
A few weeks later I was dropped as her patient. On or about 9/7/2023 I received a letter from my pharmacy that stated Elaine would no longer be filling my meds. This gave me less than a month to find a new doctor.
