I work at a homecare provider in New Jersey and I recently had a client who transitioned to long term care at Inglemoor. My client was sad to leave the comforts of his long-time home and apprehensive about giving up what little independence he still had. Fortunately, the admissions staff and administrator were very hands on in welcoming my client to his new home. They took the time to get to know that he was an avid Yankee fan, a Korean war vet, and that he loved all things Italian. All the direct care providers took time to get to know my client and involved him in all aspects of his care. This gave him a sense of self-worth and self-control that is often lost in a skilled care setting. As unfortunate as it may be to lose a client, I could not be happier that my friend ended up in a community that values it’s patients as much as Inglemoor does.

This place is amazing, the caring and people make the place. All the nurses and aides are considerate, helpful and happy making this a wonderful place for my mom. My mother is more comfortable and happy and I am thankful we were able to get her in.

My mother has been a resident at Inglemoor Care Center for a little over one year. She was admitted for rehabilitation following a fall and was subsequently placed on long-term care status due to her advanced age and multiple medical problems. My sister and I did a great deal of research prior to selecting Inglemoor, as we realized this would likely be a permanent placement for our mother. Based on our experiences over the past year, we could not have made a better decision.
I will begin by saying that the staff at Inglemoor are exceptionally skilled and competent in addition to being friendly and kind. This is true of the medical/clinical staff, rehab department, physical/occupation therapy department, recreational staff, social workers, and others. The dietary department goes above and beyond in providing food that actually tastes good. And the housekeeping department is diligent in keeping things scrupulously clean. Over the past year, our experiences with administrative and billing personnel have been equally positive. There has always been clear communication and respect as we have addressed the difficult and complex financial issues that invariably arise in situations like this.
But what stands out most at Inglemoor is the atmosphere of kindness and compassion that is evidenced throughout the facility. My 95 year old mother is treated with dignity and compassion by virtually all her treaters. Over the past year she has developed wonderfully supportive relationships with her CNAs, nurses, and several other members of the staff.
As I live in CT, I am not able to visit my mother as often as I would like. However any time I call for an update, the nurses on her unit are more than willing to provide information on my mother’s status and answer any questions I may have. As an LCSW with extensive experience providing behavioral health services in long-term care facilities in CT, I have spent a great deal of time in many rehabs, nursing homes, and assisted living programs over the years. Of course, no place is perfect. Sometimes something is misplaced in the laundry, sometimes there is a need to wait for staff assistance, sometimes there is a problem that needs to be resolved. But based my experiences, both personal and professional, I can state unequivocally that Inglemoor Care Center is as good as it gets.
