I was helped here while waiting in line by one of the managers, just to make sure I had everything I needed to change my name. And she even took extra time to explain what would be actually necessary for the registration of the car in my new name. The length of time spent in the building waiting was excessive but everyone who helped me that day was nice. Much better experience than other places I’ve been to.

I recently went in for a Real ID/license renewal (August 2022). I made an appointment online ahead of time and arrived half an hour early. While there did appear to be several people ahead of me struggling with forms and IDs, I was able to get through with minimal duress.
This is not a comfortable place, so I understand why there are many frustrated reviewers. Do your business by mail, if that's an option.
My advice would be to schedule an appointment early on a weekday. The ID check was worst part. There is a bias towards financial documents for proof of address (credit card bills or bank statements). Seems like it is hard in life for unbanked people. It can also be a pain for paperless billing, so make a printout before you go if you don't have a recent one. Prepare in advance.
The entrance and exit to the location seems a bit roundabout and not obvious.

I had a great experience with my road test at this location. T. Moore was such a thoughtful and kind instructor. I haven't driven in many years due to an accident so retaking my road test 15 years later was very nerve wracking. T was so nice and quickly made me feel comfortable.

I hope she sees this! I won’t forget her kindness.

Went for a name change. There are no walk-ins on Saturdays FYI (learned the hard way unfortunately). But I went back on a Thursday, got there at 7:15am to wait. At first everyone (walk-ins and appointments) waited on line but when they open the doors at 8 they split us all into two lines—appointments on one, walk-ins the other. The woman let anyone with an appointment between 8-9 in first and then let walk-ins in after. I was first in line for the walk-ins so I was out by 8:35. Everyone I dealt with was very nice! Overall positive experience but wish they made it more clear there are no walk-ins on Saturdays.
