Still the best ever lobster roll sandwich I’ve ever had’
The absolutely best Maine lobster I’ve had in a very long time! So excited to find this restaurant on the boardwalk in Asbury Park. The lobster sandwiches were generous and delicious! We came back the next day for more seafood and had lobster and shrimp sandwiches. The last time I had lobster this good was years ago when I was in the retail seafood business. Really fresh and delicious!
This place definitely lived up to my expectations, although this is not cheap eats. Lobster rolls, both Maine with mayonnaise and Connecticut with warm butter, are $23 each and are both excellent, as is the cole slaw that comes with. Tater tots are really good too. Clam chowder was also very tasty. Overall great experience and can't wait to go back.
Right on Asbury Park Boardwalk, this spot is a pickup spot with tables. I really enjoyed my lobster tacos. The shrimp roll was not very good. Very clean though and nice indoor and outside seating.
I really love going to this location to get my seafood from Cousins. They offer some things that aren’t on the mobile truck. I love the full bodied clam platter, it is so delicious. The Connecticut Lobster Roll is delicious as well.
This place is right on the beach, prefect pairing for having your seafood directly at the waters edge. Do drop in for a visit.
First off, in a region of the Jersey Shore where even the local butcher thinks it's okay to shamefully request tips for their workers, it was a breath of fresh air that the checkout screen did not request a tip, even though a food server brings your food to your table after you place an order. So obviously, this behavior encourages tipping "on the side."
The actual staff that works here is so well-trained and pleasant that I actually put two stars back into the review because the food is so horrendous here, lol... Another star was added simply because there was no tip shaming. So Cousins now received a four-star review for what should've been a one-star review for the food. Nothing comes out hot, and everything is soggy. The fried clams tasted like "bad fish." The lobster roll seems short-changed and comes out barely room temperature.
