(April 8, 2014, 11:31 pm)Sensei Mike and East Coast Karate II are one of those rare finds. The dojo is extremely clean and well managed. Sensei Mike is very knowledgeable, personable and patient. He affords his students, both children and adults, an atmosphere conducive to intensive martial arts training and learning, and consistently provides that individualized attention that is missing from many other dojos. I've trained in five other dojos in different disciplines and I can say that Sensei Mike and East Coast Karate II is BY FAR the best dojo in which I've ever trained. A mixed curriculum, featuring karate, kickboxing, grappling, and haganah, amongst others, provides an ever changing experience where you're always learning something new each session. This rotation of disciplines keeps you coming back for more because you never get bored with the same old routine. Sensei consistently offers an expertise that itself alone is worth the price of admission. Couple this with his patience and insightful suggestions on form or technique and you realize that this is not just a dojo, but a place you can call your own; and he not just a teacher, but a mentor, and I'm proud to say, a friend. I highly recommend East Coast Karate II and Sensei Mike without reservation.
