Lots of fun in a little space!
There was not much litter where I hiked. Well-worn trails. One way to enter is by parking in back of Industrial Park off Canfield.
Great local mountain biking trails.
A hidden gem of Morris county that serves as a trail hub for Hedden County Park, West Morris Greenway, Black River Park, Randolph Trails, Canal Park. You can easily hike/bike up to Wildcat Ridge and Mahlon Dickerson to the North and Nassau Trails, Colombia trail to the South. But you can still put together a 10 mile hike/ride staying on the property. The dedicated volunteers have been maintaining the trail network at Dickerson Mine for a little over 10 years. There are a number of purpose built mountain bike trails and multi-use trails. Definitely something for everyone; hikers, runners, dog walkers, geocachers and bikers. As for trash, the property is VERY well looked after and there are huge organized cleanups held yearly. Included are photos from our 2014-2016 cleanups. There is also a very healthy wildlife population in the area. Chris must have been wearing his bear bell.
