I used my United Miles to get a very nice Apple product. The Mileage Plus Rewards website stated that the order would take 14 business. After reading some of the reviews here I was a little concerned that this number might be wrong. So, I had no expectations. I figured it would arrive when it arrived. After all, this is basically a free gift. All I did was travel. Granted, I was using up ten years worth a travel miles. But still, I was not expecting Amazon-Prime-level service. I didn't pay for the darned thing. My first pleasant surprise was that I received an email a little over a week after placing the order. It included a tracking number. The next pleasant surprise was that the item arrived a few days later. Total time from order to delivery? 14 total days. Perfect! Thanks, Brainstorm Logistics!
I read all these reviews and other negative reviews on the web so I was really unsure about ordering through my united miles plus reward miles. I did find one positive review. The fine print says 10 business days which to me, sounds about right for ordering anything with reward points(miles) and not actual cash. It would take a few days for the order to be processes and then a few more for some sort of cash or exchange for the actual product and then a couple more for shipping.
I ordered a brand new Apple iPad Air and received in 8 business days. I did not receive tracking right away but like I said above, it most likely takes awhile for the actual transaction to take place before the paperwork and money is exchanged. I was able to track it though after I believe 5 business days. I was happy with this experience and would definitely do it again. Now if I was paying cash to a company selling an iPad or from Apple, I would expect the product to come in less than 8 days but since I was using reward miles and essentially (besides me using my credit card) cost me nothing.
