Dr Phyllis Marganoff

I went to Dr. Marganoff with a specific goal - to work through some actions I had taken a long time ago related to a previous marriage that were torturing and severely distracting me on a daily basis. Each session begins with a moment to feel present and safe, as these are deeply personal issues we are discussing. Each time I hit a tender point, we pause to really feel and value what I am experiencing. This practice is something I now do everyday - imagine pausing, reflecting and respecting how we feel! I had never experienced EMDR before. I am moved at how impactful the process is in lifting the pain and sufferring that was seared in me such a long time ago. Through all the work we do together - and it is a true collaboration - Dr. M provides a safe, empathetic environment. After each session, I say "how can the next one possibly provide more catharsis and inner peace than this?", and then it happens all over again. I am pleased to be a reference if needed.

She has helped me with the transition to getting married, as well as welcoming a child into our family. She always takes my thoughts and opinions into consideration, and gives thoughtful insight to help guide our family every step!

Dr. Phyllis Marganoff is a highly trained psychologist with many years of clinical practice, training, and teaching experience. Her work with individuals, couples, and families helps them address crises that arise at all phases of the life cycle, from birth to death. Her special focus is on the way people connect and nurture their connections throughout life. This includes helping people start relationships, build relationships, and sometimes restructure those relationships. She works to help each individual identify, clarify, and expand their inner thoughts and feelings. This then becomes integrated with an understanding of the other people in their lives, who have their own characteristic styles and approaches to dealing with relationships and issues. In this way the possibility for solving dilemmas and impasses can take place. Dr. Marganoff’s work is collaborative, as she carefully listens to each person and reflects back in an unbiased manner, what is being expressed. There is a thorough examination of the situation and feelings of everybody concerned, so that each person can decide for themselves what is best for them.
