What a beautiful and cozy stay! The hosts made us feel right at home. The decor reflected well on the design expertise of our hosts - endlessly creative and eye-catching, but warm. The adjoining cafe had fabulous coffee and coffee-based drinks as well as baked goods. Breakfast was great as well. The location is also special - very close to a section of the Appalachian Trail containing a boardwalk over a long swampy area. Also, a wide choice of restaurants in the area.
Can I say this was the best little getaway. What was initially a day trip turned into an overnight stay at Fox & Beat lodge. Upon our arrival Derrick greeted us in the parking lot and walked us to the entryway and provided us with our room key. After a brief rundown of the front lock and breakfast we were ready to see our room. As soon as I walked in I loved the cottage feel. The room has a have fireplace, robes to get comfy and red wine to wind down. Our baby Bruno joined us which was an additional $100 but worth it. Ben served us spinach feta pastry, croissant, fruit, yogurt and coffee. The locals were super friendly and helped to suggest local spots to enjoy.
Everything about our stay was wonderful from start to finish! The accommodations were comfortable and we had everything we needed or could possibly want. The food was delicious (and made to order!). The owners and staff were generous, friendly, and welcoming. We booked a spur of the moment trip to do some hiking in the area and the Fox and Bear Lodge was the perfect location. We will definitely be encouraging friends to check it out and returning ourselves.
We loved our weekend at The Fox and Bear Lodge! Every detail has been considered in terms of design and comfort. The outdoor areas have been beautifully landscaped, and our favorite spot was by the babbling brook. It was so peaceful to sit, read, and relax by the water. The rooms are inviting and have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast Janice prepares and serves is delicious! It is clear that Dearrick and Brant have put so much work and heart into creating a wonderful experience for their guests. We look forward to returning for another weekend in the future!
We had a delightful weekend stay at this charming inn. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a bottle of sparkling wine. Our room was lovely, gas fireplace and nicely decorated. The breakfasts were fabulous. The locally made cider doughnuts were scrumptious. There is a wonderful cafe on site as well, very eclectic and cool designs with a cozy atmosphere. Great for an afternoon coffee, latte, etc. The staff cannot do enough to make the stay comfortable, and they are great at local recommendations for day trips, hiking, meals or whatever you might want to do. If you are looking for a nice weekend away without breaking the bank, this is the place. We look forward to our next stay at the Fox and Bear!
