Morgan State House Inn

Absolutely Fantastic, Staff and owner Are Amazing and EXTREMELY helpful and accommodating, My wife and I LOVED it there! IF there was an option to give 10 stars I would ✨️ ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️ We have already made more reservations to return.

Having usually stayed at Hiltons or other such major brand hotels, I appreciated the opportunity to have a different and distinct experience during my trip to Albany. There is a vibrant sense of intimacy and informality that I quite appreciated. The main building of the inn has been converted by its owners from a structure that was quite futuristic and avant-garde during its time, featuring Japanese influences that influenced much of Western architecture in the latter half of the 19th century. The building where most of the rooms are is not quite as notable from an architectural standpoint, but it's still a gorgeous building. It's a monument to a bygone era, when wild ornamentation was not yet taboo and a true sense of grandeur and permanence was to be encouraged. I certainly prefer the building itself over the slightly austere and anonymously inert atmosphere of many modern hotels.

Even if you are not a devotee of 19th century architecture like me, the experience of being here is still comfortable and reassuring, friendly without being overbearing. The room keys are a bit of an iffy proposition, but if you keep working at them, you should be able to make them work

Great location for Capitol. Great food choices. All were within walking distance. It's an older building but very cozy. Bed was comfortable. Beautiful lobbies. Internet is sketchy. Breakfast was included, serve yourself, casual with lovely seating areas.

Checking in at the Morgan State House was quick and easy, very polite host, he did not introduce himself though and I forgot to ask. He was wearing a mask every time I saw him so very conscientious about keeping his guests safe. We stayed in a suite two doors down from The Brownstone. Classy period Decor, very clean, great water pressure which sometimes is questionable in these old buildings. Loved the soft sheets, all of our furniture was very comfortable. Great location also! Walking distance to so many things and right across the street from the park which is absolutely beautiful.

This is a beautiful old brownstone building and the interior of the lobby and dinning area is very much in keeping with the era.

The service was good and friendly making us feel at home from the outset.

We were in the annex a couple of doors down from the main house. The room was clean and well presented but the bed really did not live up to expectations. The most uncomfortable night with little sleep.It was so bad my wife ended up sleeping on the floor.
