  I can't speak highly enough of my experience with Lorna.
  As background, my family and I went to see her for some big problems we were having. Before we set the appointment, she had an *extensive* (in a good way) phone consultation with me to learn more about the situation determine whether we would be helped by therapy. She even spoke to other members of my family via phone (before an appointment was even set) to get a deeper perspective.
  My family dynamics changed, markedly, for the better following our very first visit to her. The setting was very comfortable, and she wasn't afraid to express what we needed to hear to improve and heal. She really listened and the level of emotional investment and caring was unparalleled in my many years of seeing multiple (personal) therapists.
  Our first visit went **well** over the originally allotted period of time but she wouldn't accept more payment--but make no mistake, we were willing and, in fact, wanted to. This was the ultimate testament to how much she cared; she was willing to guide us *well* into the evening and that took priority over any compensatory or time-limit concerns.
  I really can't recommend her highly enough.

  Lorna was so great and insightful in giving me and my partner the tools to have a successful relationship. She was attentive and spent many hours with us to work on our issues. The bottom line is at the end of our long session the homework she gave us really helped us get closer and be more sensitive to each others needs. We are in such a better place now after we spoke with Lorna and she is the best and I would highly recommend her to anyone having issues within their marriage! Thank you Lorna! I’m so greatful for the tools you provided us with that will last for an eternity to have a loving & healthy marriage!

  Lorna Baker is an amazing therapist. She is able to listen and relate to you on a personal level as well as provide the necessary critical feedback for self improvement. She’s very accommodating and direct. I believe I made a great decision working with her and you will too.

  Lorna Baker at Riverdale Therapy & Counseling has improved our marriage tremendously. My wife was extremely apprehensive of the idea of marriage counseling. That being said, we were at a point in our marriage where we found ourselves at a place where our tools weren’t working to help us communicate, grow closer, and navigate through the inevitable challenges of marriage. Having parents with significantly different communication styles, we had difficulty finding our normal and what was worked for us. After calling Lorna and speaking to her on the phone before our session, we noticed she was direct and to the point, and asked insightful questions. This immediately made us feel more comfortable and that we were taking the right steps.
  
  In our session, Lorna encouraged us to open up, analyze the issues at hand, and come up with direct and practical solutions. She created an empathetic, non-judgmental environment of openness which allowed us to discuss freely the issues we hoped to resolve before starting counseling. She professionally and thoughtfully discerned the reasons for our communication breakdowns and gave us practical tools on how to bridge our differences and grow closer. She was also very generous with her time, and when noticing that we needed more time to talk things through and share our perspectives and concerns, she warmly provided it.
  
  Hearing her perspective and fostering communication gave us the insight, faith and confidence to face our marriage with a renewed perspective. Her tools are something that we have incorporated and practice on a daily basis. Looking back on the first session, we feel today as if we are a team in a meaningful and fulfilling marriage with a strong, compassionate and loving bond. We attribute a lot of our growth as a couple to her services and sessions. We will always be grateful to Lorna!

  After going through about 12 sessions with a therapist that took our insurance and seeing zero results I decided to research other options. I came across Lorna and decided to give her a call. She was patient and knowledgeable right away during our free phone consultation. We then decided to meet with her. The results after just a few sessions were AMAZING!!!! She spent so much time with us and never charged us a penny more where the other therapist would end the session the second 55 minutes hit. Lorna is made a world of difference in our family. She even called multiple times afterwards to follow up and genuinely cared. I feel like I can tell her anything. All the reviews about her are true... she’s that good. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Lorna. You have changed our lives.
