Elderwood at Williamsville

A facility filled with a staff and administration that truly care for your loved one. Our loved one was treated with kindness and love. Wherever we wheeled him there was always a staff member saying hello or giving him a fist bump! The activities provided were very good! There were so many different parties, performances, music of all kinds, games, that a resident had plenty of things to choose from. The PT staff was excellent!! And our social worker was caring and always took the time to listen to our family when we had questions or concerns. The patio was one of my father in law’s favorite places to spend his spring and summer. What really impressed me was how the GM would sometimes help serve the residents their meals and knew each of their names. I would have given a 5 star but sometimes there wasn’t enough aides on the weekend. I realize that’s a common problem everywhere.

While the facility does need to be updated aesthetically, it's what's inside that counts. The residents here are quite happy with everything going on in this facility. In the past year we made note that Elderwood at Williamsville went from a 3 star facility to a 4 star facility. I had asked why they weren't a higher star facility and found out that it's because they take on patients that are more medically complex than other facilities. Having worked in health care myself, I do know that this is true. Pain levels, UTI's, wounds, etc. The Therapy Team here is absolutely amazing. You could not ask for a better Department! The activities offered here are fantastic. They've had several family fun days, where people from the Community are invited to participate in -- best part is, they're all free. I'm very pleased with Elderwood at Williamsville.
