The Skater's Edge

I couldn't be happier with my experience at The Skater's Edge! After getting back into skating as an adult I realized I needed some better skates than what I was currently using. Claire was so friendly and thorough during my skate fitting. She took the time to answer my questions and talk through the different brands, boot options, blades etc. It's been about a week since getting my skates and I have felt a huge improvement in my skating and comfort! I've had ill-fitting skates before and am thrilled that I can finally skate without my feet killing me. Thank you!!

I ice skate for recreation, but wanted to get my own pair of skates after taking lessons. I was blown away by the attention to detail and fit I received at my fitting appointment. The price of everything was very reasonable and the service, support, and information I received was over the top wonderful. I can’t recommend this place enough!

I recently returned to skating after taking a substantial amount of time off. I went to Skater's Edge, because that is where I used to go for skates, sharpening's etc. They are the only local establishment that specializes in figure skates. I had no idea the former owners retired, and Claire had taken over. We spoke briefly, and I set up an appointment for a fitting. Being a little older, I was interested in dance. Too old to jump. Claire listened to my needs, and gave me a number of options to try. After spending a considerable amount of time with me, we had the boot and blade combination that we thought would work best for me. Once everything came in, Claire took the time to get the blades mounted for me ( she landed up moving the blade on the left skate a little more to the outside than would normally be expected ), and figuring out the hollow that would allow me to be comfortable with the edging that dance requires. I could not be happier with the results. They are literally the most comfortable skates that I have ever owned. With my basics back, I am working on patterns and loving the sport again. I would be remiss if I did not mention that Claire did the exact same thing for my wife when she purchased her new new skates. We now have a skate tech that we trust to sharpen and work on our skates. No need to take a chance going to one of the hockey stores, or rink pro shops and hoping the sharpening turns out the way you want it to. Claire's sharpening's are as consistent as I have ever had. I really can't say enough about the service Skater's Edge provides.

At 24 years old, I was fitted for my first pair of skates. Claire made this a wonderful experience. She was able to answer all my questions and was very kind throughout the whole fitting process. Claire helped me find quality skates that fit great and were appropriately priced. I highly recommend buying your skates at The Skater’s Edge.

I had inserts put in my skate boots and they fit SO much better. Claire is great at boot fit, advice, and excellent quality products. A friend and I traveled 3.5 hours to her store and I highly recommend anyone do the same. It is well worth the time investment. My friend and I both have fit issues so had a Zoom call with Patti, the writer for the "Skater's Edge Corner," in Skating Magazine. It was fantastic.
I purchased gloves with special tips so you can use your phone or I-Pad on the ice without taking off your gloves. Even though we didn't purchase a dress they have a wonderful selection in various sizes.
As a former Ski Instructor I had professional inserts and fitting for my ski boots which greatly impacted my skiing ability. So I knew the value of custom boot fit and I traveled 7 hours for that fitting!
Claire and Dawn can't do enough for you every step of the way. Great communications via email before and after the trip. Since I have a small boot the blades had to ordered but Claire did the initial tuning and shipped them to me a very low cost with no markup. I can't say enough superlatives about this place other than GO.
