Sail Buffalo

I highly recommend taking an ASA course with Capt Pierre. I recently completed ASA 104 and he was excellent. Even though I've been sailing for years, I learned a lot. He set a very relaxing and fun tone that made learning easy and enjoyable.

I LOVED my ASA course with Sail Buffalo and I can't wait to do more! I took an "intro to sailing" course earlier this summer and was left with a lot of questions and wanting a lot more. Sail Buffalo's ASA 101 course answered those questions and more and I can't wait to continue on to 103 and 104 as early as possible next summer. The people here are phenomenal, so kind, friendly, and welcoming and so so so knowledgeable and supportive of their students. Even their junior sailing program counselors were so excellent and fun I wish I was a junior sailor. I could listen to Pierre's stories for hours and in three days I learned so much from him and got so much more confident in my skills. Anything you're nervous about you'll get the change to practice over and over until it feels totally natural and sinks in. Pierre is clear and direct with his feedback and will push you without overwhelming you--he's excellent at teaching and building confidence through direction, feedback, and repetition. I also really appreciated how Pierre wanted to know my goals for sailing and was excited to work together to get me there. Also excellent value for the price of the course--I learned 10 times as much as the other course I took. I know now that I not only have an excellent place to keep earning certifications and learning new skills, but a safe place to practice them, ask questions, use their boats (as a member), and explore opportunities that match my interests all within a wonderful community of people. I would recommend Sail Buffalo to absolutely anyone in a heartbeat, especially after trying another course. If you're looking for a sailing school, whether for a kiddo or an adult, look at Sail Buffalo.

This is the 2nd summer my son has attended. He is signed up for 4 weeks this summer and has attended 3 so far. He absolutely LOVES Sail Buffalo! He has been given the skills here to learn how to sail and has fostered his love for sailing. He is 9 and he has learned to take out the skiffs by himself and even taken out the younger kids to teach them some skills. This has given him independence and the ability to make his own decisions out on the water. He loves sailing so much now that we even bought him a little sailing dinghy. These are skills kids can use for the rest of their lives. The counselors are wonderful and and professional. He will be going back for years to come!

I sent my two teens to this program and they had a great time! There were lots of other kids their age and they were out on a boat the very first day, performing all of the necessary jobs to control their boat. They had lots of stories and came home exhausted every day (a good thing). The property has a cute, camp-like feel. We here in Buffalo are so lucky to live on one of the Great Lakes and I wish I got my kids started earlier with these skills, but they look forward coming back next year.

Sail Buffalo has been an amazing experience for our boys (10 and 12 years old). This is the second year they come all the way from Miami to do this summer camp. The coaches are just wonderful and every day is full of fun. They boys love to sail and it is thanks to the fun coaches and dedicated staff here at Sail Buffalo. Every year they come to sail for 2 weeks but end up staying for 3. It is never enough; it is just too much fun. Thank you Sail Buffalo.
