  This IS THE BEST VET IN NEW YORK CITY. I've never met a vet more committed to animals in my life. Dr. Appel performed an emergency surgery on my little Persian kitten. Kenny ate something that was blocking his digestive system. He was throwing up and wouldn't eat for days and most likely would have died without the surgery. After speaking with two other animal hospitals in Manhattan, I found this hospital. Unlike other surgeons, Dr. Appel took my fur baby in at around 11pm on a Friday! Most vets aren't even available that late at night without extra fees, but this Dr. was open and quoted me a much more affordable price. He was so attentive and helpful. He's been in business since the 70's and he's still got it! (I saw his diplomas from both Cornell and NYU on the wall in the office). I'm so happy to report my kitty is doing great (2 weeks after his procedure). I'd like to thank Dr. Appel and his staff for an amazing experience. Thank you for saving Kenny's life! Thank you for loving my pet as much as I do. Xx

  Wonderful Vet.
  We come to see him from Eastern Connecticut because Dr. Appel is just so amazing. In the past 5 months we between, surgery, vaccines exams and boosters we've had about 6 visits. Took excellent care of our puppy Dino who needed a lot of care during the pandemic. Also cares for our 2 cats and we find his prices very reasonable and accommodating. We know our animals are in the best hands. Thank you!

  My guinea pig fell from the table and this was the first time ever i took a guinea pig to a hospital. So everything is new to me. I found this place and went the next day. The staff is very nice and caring and the Veterinarian is very thorough, and lets us know about the situation in the simplest way possible and options that we can take. He is a very nice guy and very professional. However, he is the only veterinarian in this hospital so the waiting line is quite long sometimes and I think he looks quite tired because he is around the whole day doing surgeries and all those stuff. I think he should hire another veterinarian to help him out therefore he could get some sleep because this is a 24 hr hospital. Overall I am happy with the service and how much the staff and the Dr cares about the patients.

  Hi I recently had to take my dog for an emergency visit. I drove from new Jersey to Brooklyn because the cost was lower than the emergency clinics out here. Dr. Appel was amazing. very professional and loving with my dog. I did pay over $700 for treatment but that is always expected with emergency veterinarian clinics.
  
  Dr Appel was friendly knowable and very professional and I appreciate everything that he did for my dog Bart and my family.
